Sharing is Caring

Burhill Golf Club is a true hidden gem in the heart of London. The club website describes it as “a grand old dame standing at the corner of Pembroke and Upper Wimpole Streets. It is a world-class men’s golf club with a glorious history. The 18-hole championship course was designed in 1895 by J.H. Taylor and Co. and is consistently rated among the top 100 golf courses in Europe. It is a true test of golf for those looking for a championship course. The atmosphere is one of absolute luxury and privilege. An exclusive club established in 1893, Burhill is truly one of the best places for golf in London.

What Is The Monthly Fee?

Burhill’s website lists the monthly fee as ยฃ395. This gives you a good idea of the kind of money you’re looking at spending here. ยฃ395 in March has gotta be one of the more expensive months in the year. As a Burhill Golf Club member, you can expect a welcome pack containing golf essentials and a welcome letter once a month. You also get discounted green fees, which are quite high. In addition, there’s a golf bag checklist and a quarterly magazine.

Is It Worth It?

On the day of our visit, we got to try out the Burhill Golf Club for free (provided we were wearing golf garb). As a result of this welcome offer, we were able to have a crack at the course without having to pay a penny. While the truth is we didn’t manage to get quite the most out of it, it was still a memorable experience that we’re definitely not going to forget in a hurry.

Is It Easy To Practice At?

Practice at Burhill is a little different to normal. There are no short-game practice holes as you would find at many other golf clubs. Instead, you’ll need to take your practice shots from the fairway, where the ball isn’t in the air for very long.

What Is The Overall Rating?

Based on our one visit to Burhill, we gave it a 4 out of 5 rating. Even though we didn’t get to play the full course with our first visit, we still managed to have a good look at it. The layout is interesting, with lots of twists and turns. As a results, we were kept on our toes, which is more than can be said for some courses. Our tour guide, Oliver, was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience worthwhile. He answered all of our questions and was a great source of information about the course. We would visit Burhill again in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a unique experience in London, this is the place to be. The club provides a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of daily London life.
