Why Should You Install Golf Club Shaft Extenders?
The short answer is so you can hit the ball longer. The longer the shaft, the farther it will go. With golf, there is always room for improvement. Even though the distance you can hit a ball is not that far, there are still a lot of ways you can increase your game. One of the simplest ways is to simply install longer shafts on your clubs. This will increase the weight you have to push down on the club to make a shot go farther. The more weight you push down on the club, the more the ball will go farther. It’s as simple as that!
What is even more exciting is that this improvement in your game will come easily. All you have to do is install longer shaft extenders on your clubs and start practicing. You will not need to change a lot of things about how you play. The longer the shaft, the easier it will be for you to hit the ball farther. You will not need to change your stance, your grip, or how you look at the ball to begin with. This is why we consider these items as โconvenience enhancementsโ rather than true โgame enhancersโ. They will make it easier for you to hit the ball farther than you could otherwise. This is why they are commonly found in practice ranges and on the driving range. Nobody wants to play with short clubs anyway. So, it’s always better to have longer shafts.
How Do You Install Golf Club Shaft Extenders?
It’s very simple. You will need a length of PVC pipe (we use Black Diamond with the golf icon embossed on the side) in addition to the shaft extenders themselves. One end of the PVC pipe needs to be closed off with a plug. The other end should have a hole drilled through it so that it can be threaded. These holes are often called โhex-holesโ or โAllen-wrenching holesโ and are labeled according to what type of fastener you will need for installation.
The first step is to set the pipe length you will need so that it fits snuggly on top of your shaft. Typically, you will need either 5/8 or 7/8 inches of clearance on each side of the shaft. You should also make sure that the tip of the plug closes off the end of the pipe so that nothing gets blocked when you are tightening the bolts. This is why you need to leave about an inch or two between the tip of the plug and the end of the pipe.
After ensuring that the shaft is in the proper position inside the pipe, you need to mark the spot where the first bolt will go. Mark it with a circle and leave a smaller circle around it for the other bolts. The center of the circles should be positioned directly over the top of the shaft so that it will be level with the rest of the pipe when you are done.
We then tighten the first bolt, and then mark and tighten the remaining three or four bolts. Once all of the bolts are in place, you can then thread the hole at the end of the pipe and connect it to a hose clamp or similar retaining device. If you are using hose clamps, it’s best to put one on each side of the shaft so that they do not come loose during use.
If you are using wing nuts instead of hose clamps, then it is best to put one on the top of the shaft and one on the bottom so that they do not come loose during use. This will help keep your golf club shafts from moving around too much during use so that they do not break or become damaged in any way.
The Benefits Of Installing Golf Club Shaft Extenders
Aside from allowing you to hit the ball farther, the benefits of installing longer golf club shafts are numerous. As we mentioned before, the longer the shaft, the more weight you will have to push down on it to make the same hit go farther. This makes it easier for your muscles to get a workout and grow stronger. It also allows you to have more control over the ball’s flight. You can make longer and more precise rolls. You will also be able to feel the ball’s flight better and make better choices about where to place your hands on the club.
So, if you are looking for an easy way to improve your game, you should consider getting these tools and investing in yourself.
